    Harry Alexie holds one of his male team dogs named Big Dog, who wakes up from sedation on a table in the Anvik community center. Veterinarians gave BIg Dog stitches in his leg after he fought with another of Alexie’s dogs shortly after they arrived in Anvik. Big Dog will be dropped from the team and Alexie will continue his Iditarod run with 12 dogs. Veterinarian Ron Svec told Alexie, “It’s going to heal nicely.”
